The Canadian Genetic Diseases Network is a proud sponsor of Jeans for Genes Day, the national annual event of the Canadian Gene Cure Foundation, this year on Thursday, September 23rd, 2004.

On Jeans for Genes Day, people in companies, universities, hospitals and schools wear their jeans and make a $5 donation in return for a Jeans for Genes Day double-helix pin. 100% of the funds raised are dedicated to research aimed at finding cures and treatments for genetic diseases that affect children.

The donations will be divided between research into more common genetic diseases that affect children, such as Muscular Dystrophy, Epilepsy, Juvenile Diabetes and Cystic Fibrosis and research into orphan genetic diseases, such as Hurler Syndrome and Progeria. Orphan genetic diseases are those that affect fewer than 1 in 10,000 people.

Please join us on Thursday, September 23rd, 2004 for Jeans for Genes Day and give hope to children who live with genetic disease.
