The Scriver MD/PhD Studentship Award is offered in partnership with the Canadian Gene Cure Foundation and the CIHR Institute of Genetics, as well as Pfizer Canada Inc. and a number of private foundation and donors. The award will provide support for students enrolled in an MD/PhD training program whose research focus is in the areas of genetics and genetic-related diseases.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for this award, an individual must:

Be a student registered in a combined MD/PhD training program at Canadian Universities. MD/PhD students can apply for this award at any stage of their MD/PhD training program.

Be accepted in research training program in one of the following areas : medical genetics, bioinformatics, bioethics of medical genetics, population genetics, translational genetics and fundamental biochemical research in healthy and disease states.
Description of Support
Awardees will receive an annual stipend of $20,000 as well as a yearly research allowance of $500 will be provided. In total, there are ten awards available, of which eight have already been awarded. Students may receive support for up to six years.
