To be the primary catalyst in advancing Canada's scientific and commercial competitiveness in genetic research and the application of genetic discoveries to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of human disease
CGDN - We are a not-for-profit corporation and a member of the federal government Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE).
Our collaborative research program in human genetic disease receives direct funding from the NCE and some provincial governments. Support for our projects is also awarded by industry, universities, disease foundations, and other non-profit organizations.
CGDNs 57 senior scientists and nine scholars are based in universities, hospitals, and research centers across Canada to form an institute without walls.
