Applications are being sought to fill the following positions as a result of the transfer of the laboratory from McGill University-Montreal Children's Hospital to the University of Calgary Faculty of Medicine. The positions may be taken up at any time over the summer or Fall of 1999.

Secondary expertise may be in molecular biology, biochemistry or immunology. Project work will derive from mouse knock-out models of Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff diseases, including studies on mechanism of apoptosis as the cause of neuron death and utilization of a sialidase-mediated bypass for the treatment of human Tay-Sachs disease.
