Research Associate or senior technician in molecular biology

Applications are being sought to fill the following positions as a result of the transfer of the laboratory from McGill University-Montreal Children's Hospital to the University of Calgary Faculty of Medicine. The positions may be taken up at any time over the summer or Fall of 1999.

Secondary expertise may include biochemistry, protein chemistry, or gene targeting. Project work will be on genetic diseases of biotin and vitamin B12 metabolism, including the cloning of novel genes involved in folate/vitamin B12 metabolism, development of gene-targeted mouse models for the characterization of novel gene function, characterization of enzyme structure and function, and analysis of metabolites in affected pathways. These studies will also include the analysis of mild mutations and their association with risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer and neural tube defects.

Interested candidates should send their CV and names of three referees to Dr. Roy Gravel by email at [email protected] or by mail at the Montreal Children's Hospital Research Institute, 4060 Sainte-Catherine St W, Second Floor, Montreal, QC H3Z 2Z3 (phone 514-934-4358) or by FAX at 514-934-4331.
