Description and Eligibility:

The Department of Medical Genetics invites applications from outstanding scientists or clinical scientists investigating genetic aspects of molecular biology of human disease or relevant animal models, for tenure track positions. Studies of chromosomal structure, complex traits, cytogenetic mechanisms, and developmental pathways, are among the areas of interest. Applicants must have a PhD or PhD/MD, with postdoctoral training, and be able to establish a strong independent research program and assist in genetics teaching. Appointments are expected primarily at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor, in accordance with qualifications and experience of the candidates.

This department, in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, occupies renovated facilities, integrating basic research, clinical service and diagnostic laboratories. Department information is available on: http://www.medgen.med.ualberta.ca.
