Post-doctoral Fellow

Period of Employment: Full time for a minimum of 24 months with possibility of extension.

Location: Laboratory of Dr. P. Gros, Department of Biochemistry and Center for Host Resistance, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University.

Description: This person will be in charge of cloning, expressing and characterizing thew mechanism of action of novel membrane proteins involved in cellular resistance to chemotherapy in human tumors.

Qualifications: Ph.D. is basic biological sciences. Experience in modern biochemistry and molecular biology techniques is required. Experience in the field of membrane transport would be an additional asset.

Post-doctoral Fellow

Position Available: Postdoctoral fellow to study the genetics of Prader-Willi Syndrome.

Location: Department of Medical Genetics, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Salary: Commensurate with experience according to MRC guidelines.

Project Responsibilities and Description: Analysis of Prader-Willi Syndrome candidate genes, in particular those belonging to the necdin gene family. The approaches used will include RNA expression studies in developing mouse embryos and identification of novel interacting proteins.

Eligibility: Candidates should have a Ph.D. and publications in the field of molecular genetics, neurosciences or developmental biology. Experience in developmental expression studies and protein biochemistry is also an asset.

Duration: Up to three years, available immediately.
